Creative Writing – Voice Coaching – Performing

My teaching philosophy is informed by my artist’s way, and my experience as a performer. As a coach and lecturer, I am free, creative, and gentle in bringing out individual strenghts. This has been practiced and refined over the years.
Based on the model of American Creative Writing programmes (my M.A. is from the one at Wayne State University in Detroit) we will write and share texts. In this experience, I include inspirations, exercises, writing in order to feel better, and text editing. My approach shows you the way to use your imagination freely.
I am a trained voice-artist for TV with a background in singing. My spoken word and recitation training coaches your voice in a healthy way, and helps you to express yourself freely. My experience on stage helps you to reach your audience through authenticity.
I am a performance poet who started in the US poetry slam scene and then performed all over Europe. Regarding voice-coaching I draw from training in speaking for TV and radio, in singing, and from gigs with my former bands.
Additionally, I have experience as a lecturer for university (for instance at Munich University, LMU) and can share knowledge in the field of performance poetry with you.

– Stiftung Lyrik Kabinett, Lust auf Lyrik for elementary schools, supported by Waldemar Bonsels Stiftung and by Bayern liest e.V.
– Freies Musikzentrum Munich: Songwriting Workshop.
– VHS Munich: teenagers from 14-25 with a focus on in-class presentations.
– VHS Munich/Münchenstift: a new course for the much more experienced generation where we talk about poetry.

Individual Coaching

If you need to get in the flow and re-discover your creativitiy, I can guide you to successfully make art again. I can give input on and revise your text. With voice coaching, and a boost to your public appearance, I help you prepare for special occasions such as a presentation, an interview on camera, or a speech. Through my feedback, your individual strengths and your personality will blossom. Impress your audience, be it with a business presentation, or during a beauty contest – these are just two examples of the goals of my former students.
We can start in person or via video call.

School Workshops

Let’s write poems! I inspire texts, and can help you to find your own performance style for them. My workshop is about the playfulness with words, and secrets of experienced stage artists.
This improves creativity, writing skills, oral participation, presentations, as well as processing challenging issues of life.
As a visiting artist, I bring in the fun without the grades – an opportunity for pupils to freely show their potential.
I offer this workshop in English or in German. The lecture part can be expanded as I am an ambassador of American performance poetry, and the roots of Poetry Slam. I lived for three years in the USA. In 2016, I researched the scene again when on tour in New York and Detroit.
